Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and plays an essential role in appetite control and the regulation of food intake, but what should it consist of?
The ultimate breakfast must be…
… A source of Carbohydrates: A cereal product such as oatmeal or whole grain bread which contains complex sugars
Simple sugars (yes, but the good ones!) to be eaten in moderation, such as fruit. Glucose allow the muscles to function well.
A source of protein that promotes the production of dopamine, which allows the brain to be alert and productive. For example ham, eggs, cheese or dairy products.
A source of lipids: walnuts, almonds or a dairy products.
A drink that can be hot like tea or coffee or cold like a good smoothie or juice that can be made very quickly and can very filling.
Do not forget also that the fundamental thing when waking is hydration: to eliminate toxins the body needs water.
For my part I drink a glass of water mixed with lemon juice every morning.
