What happened in the Female kitesurfing industry in this last two months and why should we be excited about 2019?

First of all let’s talk about Mikaili Sol who managed  to won the World Championship and all three events including Dakhla, Morocco and Cumbuco, Brazil and has been crowned GKA Kiteboarding World Champion 2018 by wining as well all three GKA Kiteboarding World tour – Air Games events.

At 14 years old the young Brazilian rider is now part of the history of women’s kiteboarding and sets the bar extremely high announcing a 2019 year to come incredibly exciting!

We should as well not forget to mention Pippa van Iersel has been incredibly impressive during her first year of participation in WKC Elite League and who proved that she is a new big player in female kiteboarding and will push the level of freestyle female riders for 2019.

One not to forget is Sabine Beukeleers from Belgium who created the surprise at the last GKA Kite Surf World Tour by taking the 2nd place in Single eliminations thanks to her amazing performances and end up on the  third place on the podium against very well know and talented riders such as Carla Herrera-Oria and Jalou Langeree.

51 year-old Belgian Sabine Beukeleers has 15 years kiteboarding experience and many trips to Brazil under her belt, but is new to competition. Bringing some innovative new spins and board-offs with a fluid style, she cruised her way through to meet Jalou in Wednesday’s women’s single elimination final
