Results are in from Kite Clash that just went down in Squamish Canada including the Canadian freestyle championships.

Results are in from Kite Clash that just went down in Squamish Canada including the Canadian freestyle championships.

The Canadian Freestyle Women’s Championship went to Lauren Holman, after landing some solid S-Bend Blinds. This was Holman’s first competition. The Ontario-native entered the competition without any expectations.

Second place went to Marilys Lacrois Samson and the bronze trophy went to Crystal Veness.

In the junior’s, Rieder once again came out on top – for the third year running. Liam Karam snagged the second spot with Simran Kahlon in third.

North’s Colleen Carroll, European champion Annelous Lammerts of Cabrina, Naish’s Katie Potter and now Canadian champ Lauren Holman battled it out in the Women’s International Open Freestyle. In the end, Lammerts large box of tricks landed her the win.

“Annelous was able to land a wide variety of tricks in very challenging conditions,” – KiteClash judge Geoffrey Waterson

Carroll dropped her kite for a good chunk of the competition. But she came back strong, proving to the crowd why she’s known around the world. Carroll placed second and Potter placed third.

The last day of KiteClash was reserved for the crowd-pleaser Big Air. Carroll wowed the crowd with some massive tricks that won her first place. Carroll was closely followed by Annelous Lammerts. Marilys Lacroix Samson placed third.
